UPDATEDPuzzleon The Annex
Territory
One cat to every colour, row and column, and no two of them touching — not even corner to corner.
What it is
one cat per territory
A square board split into coloured territories. Put exactly one cat in every territory, every row and every column, and never two in neighbouring squares, diagonals included. Every board has exactly one arrangement and can be reasoned out without a guess. Tap a square once to rule it out and again to place a cat; a cat in the wrong place never lands and costs one of three lives.
No tile of its own: it lives on The Annex, with its family, and keeps its own address, records and saves.
How to play
Controls, then the numbers that matter
A tap moves a square from blank to ruled out to cat and back to blank. Only the cat is checked against the answer; your crosses are yours.
Placing a cat rules out its whole row, column and territory and the eight squares around it, and undo takes it all back in one step.
A wrong cat never goes on the board: it costs one of 3 lives, and after the third the retry is the same board.
Boards are 6×6, 7×7, 8×8, 9×9 and 10×10 with 3, 3, 2, 1 and 0 hints, and a hint shows the next thing that can be worked out and why.
An Ultra Hard board cannot be finished without pairing two territories off against two lines at least twice.
Solve without a wrong cat or a hint and the result carries NO HINTS, NO MISSES.
Once you have solved a board, the menu offers today's board: one Medium board, the same for everyone that day, new at midnight Taipei time (UTC+8). It keeps its own record and never touches your levels. If you run out of lives on it, the solve that follows says how many tries it took, and only a first try can be your fastest. Solve it and COPY RESULT copies one plain line: the date, your tries if there was more than one, your misses and hints, and your time. From your second solve on a difficulty, the result also names your fastest there, or how far off it this one was.
