Operation Room
Cut through each layer on the line, cauterise what bleeds and stitch the patient shut before the monitor flatlines.
What it is
seal the bleeders first
A surgery sim with 90 procedures in seven specialties, from fishing a swallowed key out of a stomach to a heart transplant. Each one runs the same order of work: cut down through the skin and the layers under it along the marked line, cauterise the vessels that open, cut into the organ, lift out what does not belong with the forceps and drop it in the tray, place any implant and tack it, suction the field and stitch the patient closed. Organs, nerves and ducts marked with a warning sign must not be touched. The vitals panel is the patient: let them reach zero and the operation ends. Every finished operation pays XP toward six ranks, from Surgical Intern to Chief of Surgery, and keeps your best grade per procedure. After your first operation the menu also offers today’s case: one procedure picked by the Taipei date, the same for every player, its bleeders and small vessels opening in the same places and order, with its own best for the day, a count of the days you have played it and a result line you can copy.
How to play
Controls, then the numbers that matter
The score starts at 4,000, adds 45 per point of vitals left and 2,500 minus 10 a second, and takes 20 per point of organ damage, 35 per point on a protected nerve or duct, 18 for a stray incision and 6 for blood loss. Irrigating during the clean-up adds 120 a second, up to 1,000.
S needs 9,200 points with vitals at 80% or more, A 7,600 with 65%, B 5,800 with 40%. Anything else that lives is a C.
XP per operation: 520 for an S, 390 for an A, 270 for a B, 170 for a C and 40 for a death, raised 35% for every difficulty diamond past the first. The ranks open at 700, 2,200, 4,500, 8,000 and 14,000 XP.
The incision line tightens with each layer: 15 pixels of slack in the skin, 13 in the next layer, 11 in the deepest. After each of the first two layers two edge vessels bleed, and the cautery has to seal them before you can cut deeper.
You get two IV pushes per operation. Each one restores 6% of vitals a second for 3 seconds.
Below 22% vitals the heart can go into V-Fib, once per operation, and it drains 4% a second. Press Space or SHOCK: after a 0.7 s charge the shock adds 25% and never leaves the patient under 38%.
The hand shake grows by 1.2% for every point of vitals lost. Set it to Off, Steady or Normal on the menu, and turn the assists off for instructions with no visual cues; the menu remembers both.
A procedure's stars are its best grade: 3 for an S or an A, 2 for a B, 1 for a C.
The result screen says how far the run is from your best score on that procedure and what the next grade needs. R or Operate again repeats it; Next case opens the easiest procedure you have not saved yet, or once every one is saved, the easiest without an S.
Today’s case changes at midnight Taipei time, and opened from a link it waits for your first press or key before its clock starts. Missing a day takes nothing away: the menu counts the days you have played it and your longest run of days in a row.
Each specialty heading counts its saves and S grades. Saving a whole specialty, an S on all 90 and a save with the assists off for the whole operation are trophies; after Chief of Surgery the career bar counts your S grades out of 90.
