Show, Don’t Tell
The rule says big ones are poison. Pip can't read it — pick the few berries it tastes.
What it is
show it, don't tell it
Every meadow prints the day's rule for you ('big ones are poison'), but Pip cannot read. Tap a berry and Pip tastes it, which teaches it exactly one bit: poison or safe. It keeps every idea that still fits everything it has tasted and leans toward the simplest, then walks out alone to meet 8 to 10 berries it has never seen, and eats, refuses or hesitates at each one. Ten campaign meadows, four expert ones, an endless run, Pip’s notebook of all 90 ideas to teach it exactly, and a meadow of the day, new at midnight Taipei time and the same for everyone, with the last four weeks kept to replay or catch up.
How to play
Controls, then the numbers that matter
Every idea still standing gets a vote, and simpler ideas count for more: a one-part idea weighs 1, a two-part idea 0.2, a three-part idea 0.04. At 30% poison or less Pip eats, at 70% or more it refuses, and anywhere in between it hesitates.
Three stars means Pip was sure, and right, about every test berry. One or two hesitations or passed-over safe berries make it two stars, more make it one. One poison berry eaten caps the day at one star and two mean none. Two stars open the next meadow. Par makes Pip certain, but a meadow's lean, the fewest tastes any three-star day can take, can be lower: meadow 8 has a par of 4 and a lean of 2.
Pip grows between meadows. In meadows 1-3 it can only hold one-part ideas (14 of them), from meadow 4 two-part ideas (56), and from meadow 8 it notices shape (90). The four expert meadows hold three-part ideas, 210 of them, and give you six tastes.
Each meadow gives you 4 to 6 tastes against a par of 2 to 5. Nudge lights up the berry worth tasting next and says how many of Pip's wrong ideas it rules out; using it costs nothing but a 'with a nudge' badge on the result.
Pip's view, on by default, marks every untasted berry with what Pip would do with it right now. The meadow of the day opens after two stars on meadow 3, and Past days keeps four weeks of them: a day you missed can still be played there, and days played and your best run never go down. Expert, endless and Pip’s notebook open after two stars on meadow 10; an endless streak counts three-star first tries in a row, so playing a meadow again does not add to it.
