Sprawl
Bring your line of light home and everything inside it switches on as yours. Leave it out and a rival cuts it.
What it is
loop it, light it
Sprawl is paper.io on the night side of an island. Your orange street lights are your ground. Steer out of them and you string a line of light behind you; bring it back to any of your ground and the line, and everything it closed around, lights up as yours, rival ground included. While the line is out it is your weak point: if any other head touches it, you go dark and all your ground returns to the dark. Six rivals share the island (Indium, Hydrogen, Neon, Mercury, Argon and Thallium), each glowing the real colour of its element and each playing its own way, and they come back five seconds after they go dark. You get one life. Light each island of the Atlas to its target share to open the next (then go back for its BRIGHT and ALL OUT marks), play the Daily Island, or settle a grudge with one rival.
How to play
Controls, then the numbers that matter
You move a fifth faster on your own ground: 10.8 blocks a second against 9. A rival biting into your ground is slower than you there, and its line is right in front of you.
Two heads within 0.9 of a block meet head-on: home ground wins; away from home the shorter line wins, and two equal lines both go dark.
Close a loop around any part of a rival's line, even one block of it, and that rival goes dark. A rival standing on its own ground inside your loop is not hurt, but its ground is now yours.
A rival that decides to cut you shows it at least 0.4 seconds ahead: a dashed path in its colour, a white X on your line, and the race readout, your seconds home against its seconds to the X. Turn for home, or turn into it.
The coast never puts you out; it turns you along it, the nearer way. A lagoon is open water, though: loop round one and you claim only your line.
When a rival goes dark, all of its ground goes dark with it, and it comes back after 5 seconds on a fresh plot at least 12 blocks from every head. The nearest heads race for the dark ground, so be the nearest.
Each Atlas island lights at its target share, 34% on the Shelf and 20% on Delta, and opens the next. The target sits under your share, and the end card says how close you came.
Once the Shelf is lit, each lit island has two more marks: BRIGHT at a higher share (41% on the Shelf, 18% on Reef), and ALL OUT, every rival on it put out by you in one run. The Atlas counts all 18.
Light New Moon and the Atlas offers NO MOON: the Shelf, Delta, Atoll, the Pass and Reef again at the same targets, with the land shown only within 9 blocks of a light.
Lighting the Shelf opens the Daily Island: the same island for everyone, changing at midnight Taipei time (16:00 UTC). Its screen keeps your last seven days, the days you have played and lit and your longest run of days, and a missed day costs nothing. COPY RESULT copies one plain line about today.
Hold Q, or tap the map on a phone, to see the whole island in a quarter of a second. The game keeps running while you look.
Thallium hunts whoever leads. When the crown on the strip moves to you, it shadows your line about 5 blocks off, then its label turns to point at you.

What changed
StuStudios 2.2
- Sprawlโs Daily Island changes at midnight Taipei time for everyone, every lit Atlas island has BRIGHT and ALL OUT marks to earn, and lighting New Moon opens NO MOON: five islands in the dark.
Sprawl: bring your light home
- Sprawl is a land grab on the night side of an island. You are an orange street lamp: steer out of your own lit streets and you string a line of light behind you, bring it back and everything it closed around lights up as yours. While the line is out it is your weak point, and six rivals, each glowing the colour of its element and each playing its own way, are looking for it. Light the six islands of the Atlas one by one, play the Daily Island, or settle a grudge with one rival.
